Hi I’m Becky, wife, mother and a California native who would live in a pair of flip flops year around if the winters in Minnesota weren’t so frigid. In the summer of 2011, I left the beautiful Wine Country of the Northern California Bay Area, relocating to Minnesota, calling Blaine, MN home and recently moving to Ham Lake, MN.
I have a deep love for all forms of art, music and yes even tattoos. My current passion is with photography and I am blessed to have an outlet through my business to share with others.
The Beginning
Beginning as a young child I knew I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Although I was told by friends and family that I needed to find a “real” job the desire never changed.
It was in high school that I was introduced to architecture and I decided that was a great way to follow an artistic career. Little did I know that this path would become an introduction to a career I never heard of before and found something I truly love.
Education and Background
I began my college education pursuing architecture for two years at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California where I was able to further develop my fine art skills and discovered how much I loved creating with my hands. It was when I transferred to Woodbury University, in Burbank, CA that friends introduced me to Graphic Design and I made the difficult decision to change majors to follow something I truly loved and am extremely passionate about.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design with a minor in Architecture from Woodbury University.
Professional Background
My professional experience includes 10+ years of design experience in the print and publishing industry while working for an agency as well as corporate headquarters with over 1,000 employees.
My career began working for Pieper & Associates, design firm in Los Angeles, for 4 years where I gained experience creating marketing materials, brochures, displays, signage, logos and package design. Most recently I spent 6 years working in the Marketing Department for Arrowhead Electrical Products, Inc. (DBA Arrowhead Engineered Products) as primary Graphic Designer at the Corporate Headquarters for the Senior Leadership Team as well as Package design, flyers, web banners and mailers for various brands under AEP. I also worked as Product Photography Manager creating photography standards and direction throughout the other AEP divisions.
Over the years I have been blessed to have the opportunity to express my passion and artistic talent through fine art, photography, sculpture, architecture, and graphic design. Driven by a lifelong desire to create unique, one of a kind works of art, and inspired by family, I launched Becka Lynn Design in 2004. In 2008, I decided to followed my passion for photography and launched Becka Lynn Photography (renamed to Becky Moen Photography, 2014) I have been blessed with the opportunity to have been able to take my passion for art and turn it into my career.
For years I have shared my love of photography with friends and family capturing their precious and timeless memories on film. It is truly a joyous experience to share life’s tender moments through the lens of my camera.
Travel and Photography
I love to travel and I will jump at the chance to go just about anywhere. I do try to find my way back to California as much as possible to visit family and the friends or maybe trekking about exploring someplace new. California will always be in my heart as home but I have surely fallen in love with Minnesota ♥
Since moving to Minnesota, my travels have taken me to various locations throughout the state and as far south as Florida’s Emerald Coast for our family summer vacations.
